INIS staff went on a marine mammal ID workshop recently, consisting of a lecture and boat trip. During the lecture, they learnt characteristic ID features of cetacean species found in Irish waters. While on the boat they were fortunate enough to see lots of Common Dolphins (Delphinus delphis) with their calves, approximately 20 Minke Whale(Balaenoptera acutorostrata) and two Humpback Whales (Megaptera novaeangliae)!
